Removal and installation of thermal screens (Priora 2170)

The exhaust system reaches high temperatures during engine operation. Therefore, if there is mechanical damage or severe corrosion of the heat shields installed between the system elements and the body base, be sure to replace them. In addition to reducing the level of comfort in the cabin, a malfunction of the heat shields can lead to a fire in the thermal and noise insulation of the body floor, since the exhaust gas neutralizer heats up to a temperature of over 600°C.

Removal and installation of the exhaust manifold heat shield are described in the process of replacing the additional muffler (see "Replacing the additional muffler").



1. To remove the front heat shield of the additional muffler, first remove the additional muffler (see "Replacing the additional muffler").



2. Unscrew the four nuts securing it to the base of the body…





3. …and remove the heat shield.

4. Install the heat shield in the reverse order of removal.
