Perform work on an inspection pit, overpass or, if possible, on a lift.
You will need: a 10 mm wrench, a 10 mm socket head.
1. Remove the engine splash guard (see "Removing and installing the engine mudguard").
2. Drain the oil from the engine (see "Changing engine oil and oil filter").
3. Use a 10 mm spanner to unscrew the bolts securing the front clutch housing cover…
4. …and remove the lid.
5. Using a 10 mm socket head, unscrew the sixteen oil pan mounting bolts.
6. Remove the crankcase by carefully separating it from the cylinder block with a screwdriver.
7. Remove the crankcase gasket from the cylinder block mating surface.
8. Remove any remaining old gasket and sealant (if available) from the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and oil pan. Carefully wipe off any oil from the mating surfaces with a rag.
9. Place the new gasket on the mating surface of the oil pan.
Note: To secure the gasket to the crankcase, apply a layer of sealant to its mating surface and glue the gasket to it. In addition to fixation, the sealant will provide better tightness of the connection. For the same purpose, we recommend applying sealant to the mating surface of the cylinder block.
10. Install the crankcase in the reverse order of removal and tighten the bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern to the torque specified in Appendix 1.
11. Pour oil into the engine crankcase.
