If an error occurs in the left corner of the instrument cluster, the signal lamp lights up «CHECK ENGINE».
To maintain a high level of fuel efficiency, environmental safety and dynamic performance of the car, the manufacturer recommends that the ECM be diagnosed every 15 thousand km during the next maintenance.
Control is carried out by connecting special diagnostic equipment (scanner, motor tester) to the diagnostic block located behind the glove box. This type of operation is carried out regardless of whether the signal lamp lights up or not «CHECK ENGINE» in the instrument cluster. For a detailed description of the operation of the ECM, see the subsection «Electronic engine management system».
Note. For several days before maintenance, do not disconnect the battery and do not open the ECU connectors, as fault codes may be erased from the ECU memory and, therefore, the diagnostic work carried out will be incorrect.
