Diagnostics of the electronic engine management system (Priora 2170)

To prevent malfunctions in electronic engine control systems (EECS), vehicles are equipped with built-in diagnostics. The controller, or electronic control unit (ECU), records deviations in engine operation based on sensor signals and registers errors.



If an error occurs, the "CHECK ENGINE" indicator light comes on in the left corner of the instrument cluster.

To maintain a high level of fuel efficiency, environmental safety and dynamic characteristics of the vehicle, the manufacturer recommends performing diagnostics of the ECU every 15 thousand km during routine maintenance.



Control is carried out by connecting special diagnostic equipment (scanner, motor tester) to the diagnostic socket located behind the glove compartment. This type of operation is carried out regardless of whether the "CHECK ENGINE" indicator light in the instrument cluster lights up or not. Note: Do not disconnect the battery or disconnect the ECU connectors for several days before performing maintenance, as fault codes may be erased from the ECU memory and, therefore, the diagnostic work performed will be incorrect.
