1. Remove the windshield frame trims (see "Removing and installing windshield frame trims").
2. Remove the soundproofing trim from the engine compartment (see "Removal and installation of soundproofing trim of the engine compartment").
3. Use a rubber bulb or syringe to pump out the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir (see "Removing and installing the brake master cylinder reservoir").
4. Using a brake pipe wrench, loosen the two nuts securing the brake pipes to the master brake cylinder…
5. ...disconnect the brake pipes from the cylinder and move them to the side. Please note that some fluid will leak out of the master cylinder after this, so place a rag under the cylinder. Plug the holes in the brake pipes.

6. If necessary, remove the master cylinder reservoir (see "Removing and installing the brake master cylinder reservoir").
7. Using a 13 mm spanner, unscrew the two nuts securing the cylinder to the vacuum booster body...
8. ...and remove the cylinder.
Note: This is what the master cylinder looks like when removed from the vehicle.
9. Install the brake master cylinder in reverse order. Pay attention to the condition of the rubber sealing ring; if cracks or signs of aging appear, replace the ring.
10. Bleed the hydraulic brake system (see "Bleeding the hydraulic brake system").
