The tank is removed for replacement or preventative cleaning. In addition, sometimes it becomes necessary to remove the tank to replace the rubber bushings that secure it.

You will need: a 10 mm wrench, flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers.

1. Remove the windshield frame trims (see "Removing and installing windshield frame trims").

2. Remove the soundproofing trim from the engine compartment (see "Removal and installation of soundproofing trim of the engine compartment").

3. Remove the tank cover with the level sensor float.

4. Pump the brake fluid out of the reservoir using a rubber bulb or syringe.

6. ...pry the reservoir with a screwdriver and remove it from the master brake cylinder.

7. Inspect the rubber bushings securing the tank. Replace torn, cracked or loose bushings.

8. Install the tank in the reverse order of removal.
