It is more convenient to carry out the work on an inspection ditch or overpass.
Removal and inspection
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the engine splash guard and crankcase protection (if installed).
3. Having released the retainer, we disconnect the wiring harness block of the additional resistor of the electric fan.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the additional resistor.
5. Move the bracket with the block to the side and remove the resistor.
6. Visually check that the coil is intact and that there is no charring or other damage.
7. Using an ohmmeter, check the additional resistor for a broken coil.
If a fault is detected, replace the resistor.
Installation
We install the additional resistor in the reverse order of removal.
