Removing
1. We prepare the car for work (see «Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Inside the shelf of the instrument panel, use a slotted screwdriver to hook and remove the plug.
3. Disconnect the wire block from the resistor.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the self-tapping screw of the additional resistor.
5. Remove the resistor.
Examination
1. Visually verify the integrity of the spirals, the absence of charring and other damage.
2. With a multimeter in ohmmeter mode, we check the spirals of the additional resistor for an open circuit. If a break is detected in one of the spirals, we replace the additional resistor.
Installation
We install an additional resistor in the reverse order of removal.
