1. Increased oil consumption
Oil stains or drips appear under the engine or on its surface
1. Oil pan seal or drain plug leaking. When changing the engine oil, replace the O-ring (see «Engine oil and oil filter - change») or use an oil resistant sealant to repair the oil pan seal.
2. The seal of the emergency oil pressure sensor is broken. Reinstall the sensor, applying an oil-resistant sealant to its threaded part, and tighten it with the prescribed tightening torque (see «Emergency oil pressure sensor - replacement»).
3. Leaky cylinder head cover gasket. Replace gasket.
4. Worn or damaged crankshaft seals. Visually check the technical condition of the engine. Replace defective crankshaft oil seal.
Blue smoke from the exhaust pipe when the engine is running
1. Wear of valve stem seals. Replace oil seals.
2. Wear, sticking or breakage of piston rings. Check the technical condition of the engine. You can try to eliminate the occurrence of rings with engine oil additives. Repair the engine piston group, replace faulty parts.
2. Reduced brake fluid level
1. Fault (leakage) wheel brake cylinders. Check the technical condition of the brake system (see «Brake system - check of technical condition»), replace defective parts.
2. Damage to the tubes or hoses of the brake system. Check the technical condition of the brake system (see «Brake system - check of technical condition»), replace defective parts.
3. Strong wear of the brake pads. Check the condition of the brake system (see «Brake system - check of technical condition»). Replace brake pads.
3. Decreased coolant level
1. Damage to the cooling system hoses or loosening of their clamps. Based on the leakage of the coolant, we determine the places of leakage (see «Checking the technical condition of the cooling system»). Faulty clamps and other parts are replaced.
2. Damage to the radiator of the cooling system. Inspection (by streaks) determine the location of the damage (see «Checking the technical condition of the cooling system»). If the leak cannot be repaired with sealant or «cold welding» replace the defective radiator.
3. Damage to the air conditioner heater radiator. Inspection (by streaks) determine the location of the damage (see «Checking the technical condition of the cooling system»). If the leak cannot be repaired with sealant or «cold welding» replace the defective radiator.
4. Damage to the cylinder head gasket. We examine the oil level indicator. If a white emulsion is found on the indicator, it is necessary to remove the cylinder head, determine the cause of the malfunction. Check the condition of the cylinder head, replace the deformed head. Install a new cylinder head gasket.
