Note: A road slope of 23% means that in 5 m of travel a car will descend a little more than one meter.
Sequence of execution
1. Stop the car on a steep slope of at least 23% of an asphalt road and, pressing the brake pedal, hold it with the service brake.
2. Raise the parking brake lever to the stop, counting the number of clicks.
3. After releasing the pedal, we make sure that the parking brake is working properly.
Recommendation. If the vehicle does not hold the parking brake on a slope or if you count seven or more clicks of the locking mechanism during the check, you need to check the condition of the parking brake shoes and drum and adjust the parking brake (see "Parking brake - adjustment").
