Checking the functionality of the safe parking system (SPS) (if available)
When the ignition is on, the SBP should turn on automatically when reverse gear is engaged. At the same time, a short high-pitched sound signal is heard.
When the vehicle approaches an obstacle, starting from a distance of approximately 100 cm, an intermittent high-pitched signal is activated. As the distance decreases, the interval between signals becomes shorter. At a distance of less than 40 cm the signal becomes continuous.
After the reverse gear is disengaged, the SBP is automatically switched off.
After the SBP is turned on, a short high-pitched sound signal is heard, then the control unit carries out a comprehensive check in order to detect defective sensors or other system malfunctions.
If a defective sensor or other system malfunction is detected, after the power-on signal, a continuous high-pitched beep sounds for 3 seconds, then:
- if the left one is faulty (in the direction of the car) sensor, the system signals a faulty sensor with one short high-pitched signal;
- if the center left one is faulty (in the direction of the car) sensor, the system signals a faulty sensor with two short high-pitched beeps;
- if the central right one is faulty (in the direction of the car) sensor, the system signals a faulty sensor with three short high-pitched beeps.
- if the right one is faulty (in the direction of the car) sensor, the system signals a faulty sensor with four short high-pitched beeps.
- if the control unit is faulty, five short high-pitched beeps are heard.
After signaling the presence of malfunctions, the system switches off.
If any faults are detected, eliminate them in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20597.
Checking the functionality of the rear view camera (KVZ) (if available)
The KZV must be activated when reverse gear is engaged and generate a color video signal with parking lines to display the situation behind the vehicle. The signal from the KZV is displayed on the multimedia system display (the multimedia system must be turned on).
If any faults are detected, eliminate them in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20597.
Checking the functionality of the ventilation and heating system of the passenger compartment
Turn on the heater and check the air supply in all modes to different areas of the cabin using the switches.
Checking the performance of the air conditioning system (if available)
Check the operability of the air conditioning system in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20590.
Note: The air conditioner operates only when the engine is running, the outside air temperature is not lower than 5°C and the electric fan is on.
Testing the functionality of the emergency response telecommunications system (ERCS)
Check the operation of the SVEOS in accordance with Table 4.
Table 4 - Indication of the state of the SVEOS and operating mode
Character malfunctions | Operating mode of SVEOS | Button backlight color "SOS" | Status and color of the indicator t |
Initialization (turn on) | White | Green flashing
Everything is fine | "Testing" mode | White | Green flashing |
Standby mode | White | ||
Dialing, voice communication SOS | Red | Green
No signals GLONASS/GPS | Standby mode | White | Yellow |
Dialing, voice communication SOS | Red
Backup battery discharged | Standby mode | White | Yellow flashing |
Dialing, voice communication SOS | Red
No signals GSM | Attempt to dial | Red | Red |
Malfunction of the com- | Standby mode | White | Red light flashing |
components of SVEOS | Dialing, voice communication SOS | Red | shchii |
Check the functionality of the SVEOS by running the test mode.
Launch the testing mode in an open area or indoors with reliable reception of GSM and GLONASS/GPS signals.
To start the testing mode you need to:
- make sure the engine is off;
- turn the key in the ignition switch (IS) to the "Ignition on" position and wait 1 minute;
- from the "Ignition on" position, switch the ignition switch 6 times between the "Ignition on" and "+ACC" positions according to the algorithm described below, Table 5, within no more than 5 seconds:
Table 5 - Position of the key in the ignition switch (IS)
№ | Initial position of the VZ | Action to be performed | Final position of the VZ |
1 | Ignition is on | Turning on "+ACC" (ignition off) | +ACC |
2 | +ACC | Turn on ignition(1) | Ignition is on |
3 | Ignition is on | Turning on "+ACC" (ignition off) | +ACC |
4 | +ACC | Turn on ignition (2) | Ignition is on |
5 | Ignition is on | Turning on "+ACC" (ignition off) | +ACC |
6 | +ACC | Turn on ignition (3) | Ignition is on |
After the 3rd ignition switch-on (switching of ignition switch No. 6), the SVEOS goes into the testing mode if the engine was not started during the entry procedure. The audio prompt "Test procedure started" will be played. During the testing, the microphone and loudspeaker will be checked for operability. After the audio prompt "Say the test phrase" is played, you must say any phrase no longer than 5 seconds. Immediately after this, the audio prompt "Playing the test phrase" will be played, and then the spoken phrase will be played. Then the audio prompt "Confirm successful testing by turning the ignition key to the "Accessories" position and back" will be played. If the microphone and loudspeaker testing is successful, then it is necessary to switch B3 twice in accordance with Table 6 within no more than 3 seconds:
Table 6 - Position of the key in the ignition switch (IS)
№ | Initial position of the VZ | Action to be performed | Final position of the VZ |
1 | Ignition is on | Turning on "+ACC" (ignition off) | +ACC |
2 | +ACC | Turn on ignition (1) | Ignition is on |
If any errors occur during the microphone and speaker testing (the spoken phrase was not reproduced, was reproduced too quietly or with distortion, etc.), then after the sound prompt "Confirm successful testing by turning the key in the ignition switch to the "Accessories" position and back" is played, no switching of B3 is required for 7 seconds.
In case of a malfunction of the SVEOS, replace the faulty component in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20597.
Attention! It is PROHIBITED to sell a car to a consumer without a successfully completed testing procedure!
Checking the functionality of the passive safety system elements
If the vehicle has elements of a passive safety system, check their functionality. When the ignition is turned on and the passive safety system is in good working order, the diagnostic indicator should turn on for 3-4 seconds and turn off. Subsequent activation of the diagnostic indicator during vehicle operation means that a malfunction has been detected in the passive safety system and its activation in the event of a frontal or side collision is not guaranteed.
Caution: When performing work, avoid strong impacts in the area of the airbag control unit, which is located on the floor tunnel, under the instrument panel console.
Checking the operation of the access control system
Perform a test run of the engine.
In the event of a malfunction of the access system, identify and eliminate the malfunctions in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.12057.
Checking for fault codes in the electronic engine management system
Check the electronic engine management system (ECM). With the engine running, the CO "Check Engine" indicator light on the instrument panel should not come on. If the lamp lights up, perform diagnostics of the ECU in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.12056 for vehicles with 21129 and 21179 engines or TI 3100.25100.12060 for vehicles with the H4Mk engine. If there are fault codes, identify and eliminate the faults in accordance with the technological documentation, delete the fault codes from the memory of the electronic control unit (ECU) (diagnostic device).
