The system detects an obstacle behind the car using ultrasonic sensors that work on the principle of echolocation. The system is designed to warn the driver when approaching an obstacle when reversing. The driver is warned about approaching an obstacle and informed about the distance to the obstacle by an acoustic signaling device.
When the ignition is on and the reverse gear is engaged, the system is activated automatically, and a short high-pitched beep sounds. If an obstacle is in the detection zone, the system informs the driver about the presence of an obstacle with an intermittent or continuous sound signal, depending on the distance to the obstacle, the car can move in reverse or stop.
When the car approaches an obstacle, starting from a distance of about 100 cm, an intermittent high-pitched alarm is activated, the frequency of which increases when approaching an obstacle and which becomes continuous at a distance between the bumper and the obstacle of about 40 cm.
Important! It should be borne in mind that it will take some time for the car to stop completely, which depends on the driver’s reaction, weather conditions, road surface conditions, features of the brake system, car inertia, therefore, when the parking system is triggered, the driver must reduce the speed as much as possible and stop the car when continuous beep.
Attention! The parking system is an assist system that helps the driver estimate the distance to a detected obstacle.
Reversing is considered a high-risk manoeuvre. The driver, in accordance with the requirements of the Rules of the Road, is obliged to make sure that this maneuver is safe before starting it and while driving. To do this, it is imperative to monitor the situation behind the car with the help of side mirrors and a rear-view mirror.
The parking system includes:
- control unit with diagnostic function installed in the luggage compartment;
- two ultrasonic sensors installed in the rear bumper;
- a sound signaling device installed in the area of \u200b\u200bthe rear shelf.
Features of the operation and operation of the parking system:
1. After turning on the system, a short high-pitched beep sounds, then the control unit conducts a comprehensive check in order to detect defective sensors or other system malfunctions.
If a defective sensor or other system malfunction is detected, after the turn-on signal, a continuous low-pitched beep sounds for 3 seconds, then:
- if the left one is faulty (along the car) sensor, the system signals a faulty sensor with one short low tone signal;
- if the right one is faulty (along the car) sensor, the system signals a faulty sensor with two short low-pitched beeps;
- if the control unit is faulty, then a low tone signal is heard lasting about 2 seconds.
After signaling the presence of a malfunction, the system is switched off.
2. It should be taken into account that due to the nature of the propagation of ultrasonic waves, the system does not detect dangerous obstacles that scatter or absorb ultrasonic waves. These are very low, thin, pointed objects, down clothes, soft snow, etc.
You should use other methods of monitoring the situation behind the car when approaching obstacles such as «ramp», due to the geometric features of such obstacles.
3. When operating a car with a trailer, to disable the parking system, you must connect with «corps» car black and blue wire, the output of which is located near the rear left lamp.
Note. The towing device installed on the vehicle must be with a removable traction bracket, because. the system determines the distance from the bumper to the obstacle.
4. Sensors must be kept free of snow, ice and dirt to prevent malfunction. When cleaning the sensors, do not use hard or sharp objects. Sensors must be protected from shock.
5. Replacement of faulty components of the system is carried out at the enterprise of the service and sales network (PSSS).
