The following conditions meet the optimal conditions for storing a car:
- a canopy where the temperature and humidity correspond to the parameters of the environment, there is constant air movement and there is no direct exposure to solar radiation and precipitation;
- heated room (individual garage) with a temperature of at least 5°C and a relative humidity of 50–70%, equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation.
If the room is heated (individual garage) has ineffective supply and exhaust ventilation, and the car is used in winter or is stored after washing without preliminary drying, then the destructive effects on protective decorative coatings increase many times over.
Long-term storage of a vehicle in winter under a canopy or in an unheated room is permitted provided the following conditions are met:
- Drain the water from the windshield washer reservoir. Wash the car and dry the body thoroughly.
- Apply a preservative to the body.
- Fully charge the battery, remove and store it separately.
