1. Brake the vehicle with the parking brake and install the anti-rollback stops ("shoes") under the rear wheels. Raise the front of the car with a jack and place it on supports. Remove the wheel.
2. In the wheel well, remove the brake hose from the bracket on the strut.
3. Disconnect the steering rod from the steering arm (see "Removing and installing the outer tie rod end and the ball joint protective boot").
4. Place marks on the eccentric washer and the strut to indicate the position of the adjusting bolt relative to the strut. This will help to maintain approximately the same camber when installing the strut.
5. Loosen the nut of the adjusting (upper) bolt securing the strut to the steering knuckle and remove the bolt together with the eccentric washer.
6. In the same way, unscrew the nut of the lower bolt securing the strut to the steering knuckle and remove the bolt.
7. Disconnect the steering knuckle from the strut.
8. In the engine compartment, unscrew the three nuts of the upper strut mount…
9. …and remove the telescopic strut through the wheel well.
10. Install the telescopic strut in the reverse order of removal. When installing the old strut, tighten the eccentric washer in accordance with the previously made marks and, holding the adjusting bolt in this position from turning, tighten the fastening nut.
11. After placing the car on its wheels, check the tightness of the upper support strut nut. Upon completion of assembly, check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment.
