Rear Suspension Details: 1 - flange of the trailing arm; 2 - shock absorber; 3 - spring; 4 - rear suspension beam; 5 - trailing arm of the beam
The rear suspension of the car is semi-independent, made on an elastic beam with trailing arms, springs and double-acting shock absorbers.
The rear suspension beam consists of two trailing arms connected by a U-shaped cross member. This section provides the crossbar with greater bending stiffness and less torsional stiffness, allowing the levers to rotate relative to each other within a small range. A stabilizer bar is installed inside the cross member.
At the front, the beam arms are bolted into the body brackets. The mobility of the levers is provided by rubber-metal hinges (silent blocks), pressed into the eyelets of the levers.
The lower support cups of the springs are welded to the beam and trailing arms, and the upper cups are welded to the body spar. The springs are installed separately from the shock absorbers. A protective cover and an upper support are installed on the shock absorber rod. Through the upper support, the shock absorber is attached to the car body. The protective cover prevents dust and dirt from getting on the shock absorber rod.
Also, at the rear of the levers, vertical flanges are installed, to which the axles of the rear wheel hubs are bolted (pins) and shields of brake mechanisms.
To ensure the correct rolling of the wheels of the car, taking into account the operation of the suspension and steering, the suspension elements must be installed in a certain position.
Recommendation. After repairing any suspension components, be sure to check the wheel alignment. It is possible to qualitatively check and adjust the wheel alignment angles only in the conditions of a service company that has a special stand for performing adjustment work.
