If during operation there are leaks of brake fluid on the brake drum and the inner side of the wheel, replace the wheel cylinder.
Repair of the wheel cylinder usually does not lead to positive results, besides, special tools are needed for this. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the cylinder assembly.
You will need: key «on 10», special key «on 10» for loosening the brake pipe nuts.
1. Engage 1st gear and place chocks under the front wheels. Remove the relevant wheel and brake pads.
2. On the reverse side of the brake shield, clean the place of fastening of the brake tube and the bolts of fastening of the wheel cylinder from dirt. In order to facilitate the removal of the cylinder bolts and the brake pipe mounting nuts, apply a special fluid for threaded connections to the threaded connections.
3. Turn away a nut of fastening of a brake tube to the wheel cylinder.
4. Disconnect the brake pipe from the wheel cylinder by plugging the hose hole, for example, with a bleed valve cap.
5. Remove the brake drum (see «Removal and installation of a brake drum of a back wheel»).
6. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the wheel cylinder, holding it from other side.
7. Remove the wheel cylinder from a brake board.
8. Install the wheel cylinder in the reverse order of removal. Then bleed the brake system (only the wheel cylinder on the wheel to be replaced is possible).
