To perform the work, you will need a special key for the fittings for pumping the working cylinders and fittings for the brake pipes.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for work («Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the brake drum («Brake drum - removal and installation»).
3. Raise the parking brake lever all the way.
4. Remove the protective rubber cap from the bleeder of the working brake cylinder and unscrew the bleeder with a special or 8 mm spanner wrench.
5. We process the fitting of the brake pipe with a penetrating lubricant.
Warning! When performing the following operation, make sure that when unscrewing the fitting, the tube does not rotate with it. If the tube «sour» in the fitting, replace it.
6. Using a special 10 mm wrench, loosen the brake pipe fitting.
7. Finally unscrew the fitting with a 10 mm open-end wrench.
8. With a 10 mm key, we unscrew the two bolts of the working cylinder.
9. To prevent brake fluid from flowing out of the tube, we put on it the rubber cap of the bleeder fitting.
10. Remove the cylinder from the shield.
Installation
1. We clean the parts of the brake mechanism from dirt and rust, degrease the working surface of the drum, remove slight oiling of the brake pads with sandpaper.
2. Install the new cylinder in reverse order.
3. Install the brake drum («Brake drum - removal and installation»).
4. Bleeding the brake system («Hydraulic brake drive - pumping») and make sure that the connection between the brake pipe and the working cylinder is tight.
