Removing
1. We prepare the car for work («Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Fully lower the parking brake lever.
3. Weaken the tension of the parking brake cables (Parking brake - adjustment»).
4. Using a socket wrench with a deep head of 7 mm, unscrew the two guide pins.
5. Thoroughly clean the cylindrical seating surface of the brake drum on the hub from dirt and corrosion.
6. We process the seat of the drum on the hub with a penetrating lubricant.
7. To facilitate the removal of the drum, we tap it with a hammer with a rubber striker on the side surface.
8. With a puller or by screwing M8 bolts into two threaded holes of the drum (length of the threaded part 60-70 mm) and evenly wrapping them, we compress the drum from the hub.
Warning! To prevent the pistons from falling out of the working brake cylinder, do not press the brake pedal with the brake drum removed.
9. Check the brake drum for cracks, heavy wear or deep scratches on the working surface of the drum. If necessary, replace the brake drum.
Warning! The maximum permissible inner diameter of the brake drum is 201.5 mm.
Installation
1. With two mounting blades, resting the ends of the blades against the shoulder of the brake mechanism support shield, we shift the pads in the opposite direction.
2. Install the drum in reverse order.
3. To self-adjust the gap between the brake pads and the brake drum, press the brake pedal several times.
4. Adjust the parking brake (Parking brake - adjustment»).
