Contents: Automatic emergency call ⇣ Manual emergency call (SOS key) ⇣
Your vehicle is equipped with an emergency call system (further SVEOS), designed for automatic (in case of an accident) and manual call of the ERA-GLONASS system operator. The microphone and loudspeaker are used to communicate with the ERA-GLONASS system operator.

SOS – the ERA-GLONASS system operator call button is located in the interior lighting unit. Push-button switch with non-fixed "On" position. The key press time for initiating an emergency call is 2 seconds. In standby mode (with ignition on) SVEOS performs self-diagnostics, receives signals from GLONASS and GPS navigation satellite systems, and continuously calculates time, speed, direction of movement, and coordinates of the vehicle's location.

Automatic emergency call

If the airbags are deployed during a road traffic accident (RTA), the SVEOS generates a minimum data set containing information on the coordinates and parameters of the vehicle's movement at the time of the RTA, the time of the RTA, the VIN code of the vehicle and other information necessary for emergency response, and transmits it to the ERAGLONASS system operator. After transmitting the minimum data set, the operator is called to establish voice communication. While calling the operator, the "SOS" key backlight flashes red. When transmitting a minimum set of data and during voice communication with the operator, the backlight of the "SOS" key is continuously lit red.

When making voice communication, SVEOS disables the sound reproduction of the standard (or additionally installed) audio systems (multimedia system, radio) if sound was being played before the emergency call was made.

SVEOS makes an automatic emergency call only when the ignition is on.

Manual emergency call (SOS key)

A manual call can be made with the ignition on, as well as with the ignition off, if less than 72 hours have passed since the ignition was turned off. To make an emergency call manually, press the "SOS" button on the interior lighting unit and hold it down for at least 2 seconds. The SVEOS operation algorithm for a manual emergency call is similar to the algorithm described above for an automatic emergency call.

If, during a call (while the "SOS" button backlight is flashing red), initiated by pressing the "SOS" button, you press the "SOS" button again and hold it for at least 2 seconds, the emergency call will be cancelled (the "SOS" button backlight will turn off in red).

"Off" mode

The SVEOS is in this mode if no emergency call is made, if the ignition is off and at least 72 hours have passed since the ignition was turned off. In the "Off" mode, the "SOS" button is not illuminated, and the system status indicator is not lit. In the "Off" mode, SVEOS does not respond to pressing the "SOS" button. SVEOS exits the "Off" mode when the ignition is turned on.

Backup battery

The SVEOS control unit contains a backup battery, which is necessary to ensure the SVEOS operability in the event of damage to the vehicle's battery during an accident. When the ignition is on, the charge level of the backup battery is monitored and recharged if necessary.

The service life of the backup battery is 3 years. After this period, it is necessary to replace the SVEOS control unit. The control unit can only be replaced by a LADA dealer.

If any faults are detected in the SVEOS, please contact your LADA dealer to have the fault corrected.

System status indicator

When the ignition is turned on, the system status indicator lights up red for 5 seconds and then goes out. The indicator also lights up red when any errors in the operation of the SVEOS are detected. After the ignition is turned on, the internal modules of the SVEOS are initialized and self-diagnosed. This process takes no more than 1 minute. While initialization and self-diagnosis are in progress, the system status indicator does not light, even if errors were detected earlier. Therefore, to determine the presence of errors after turning on the ignition, you must wait 1 minute. Table 1 describes the operating modes of the indicator.

Test mode

The test mode is designed to check the operability of the SVEOS components. In the test mode, the operability of the SVEOS status indicator, microphone and loudspeaker in the interior lighting unit, backup battery and other internal SVEOS components is checked. If desired, you can independently check the operability of the SVEOS by starting the test mode.

The test mode must be launched in an open area or indoors with reliable reception of GSM and GLONASS/GPS signals.

To start the testing mode you need to:
  • make sure the engine is off;
  • turn the key in the ignition switch (hereinafter referred to as ISS) to the "Ignition on" position and wait 1 minute;
  • from the "Ignition on" position, switch the key in the ignition switch 6 times between the "Ignition on" and "+ACC" positions according to the algorithm described below within no more than 5 seconds:

After the 3rd ignition switch-on (switching the key to position 6), the SVEOS goes into testing mode if the engine was not started during the entry procedure. The audio prompt "Test procedure started" will be played. During the testing, the microphone and loudspeaker will be checked for functionality. After the audio prompt "Say the control phrase" is played, you will need to say any phrase no longer than 5 seconds. Immediately after that, the audio prompt "Play the control phrase" will be played and the phrase you said will be played. Then the sound prompt "Confirm successful testing by turning the key in the ignition switch to the "Accessories" ("+ACC") position and back" will be played. If the microphone and speaker testing was successful, then it is necessary to switch the key to 33 twice according to the algorithm described below within no more than 3 seconds:

№Initial position of the key in the ZZAction to be performedThe final position of the key in the ZZ
1"Ignition on"Turning on "+ACC" (ignition off)"+ACC"
2"+ACC"Turn on ignition (1)"Ignition on"

№Initial position of the key in the ZZAction to be performedThe final position of the key in the ZZ
1"Ignition on"Turning on "+ACC" (ignition off)"+ACC"
2"+ACC"Turn on ignition (1)"Ignition on"
3"Ignition on"Turning on "+ACC" (ignition off)"+ACC"
4"+ACC"Turn on ignition (2)"Ignition on"
5"Ignition on"Turning on "+ACC" (ignition off)"+ACC"
6"+ACC"Turn on ignition (3)"Ignition on"

If any errors occur during testing of the microphone and speaker (the spoken phrase was not reproduced, was reproduced too quietly or with distortion, etc.), then after the sound prompt "Confirm successful testing by turning the key in the ignition switch to the "Accessories" ("+ACC") position and back" is played, no key switching to 33 is required for 7 seconds. If any errors are detected at the end of the testing procedure, you should contact your LADA dealer to fix the problem.

Attention! If a malfunction in the operation of the SVEOS is detected, we strongly recommend that you immediately contact your LADA dealer to identify and eliminate the malfunction! When operating a car with a malfunction in the SVEOS, its operation in the event of an accident is not guaranteed!
