Removal



1. After removing the cap, use a hydrometer or rubber bulb to collect coolant from the expansion tank.

Note: It is possible to partially drain the coolant (see "Coolant - Replacement"). If the work is carried out to repair the cooling system or overhaul the engine, then the coolant should be completely drained.


2. Using pliers, squeeze the ends of the clamp and slide it along the steam outlet hose of the expansion tank.

3. Remove the steam outlet hose from the upper pipe of the tank.

4. Similarly, disconnect the hose from the lower branch pipe of the expansion tank.

5. Using a TORX T30 key, unscrew the two expansion tank mounting bolts.

6. Remove the barrel from the bracket (removing the tank protrusion from the bracket groove).

Installation



1. Install the tank in the reverse order.

2. Fill the engine cooling system with liquid through the expansion tank (see above, "Coolant - Replacement"), after which we make sure that there is no liquid leakage at the joints. If necessary, tighten the hose clamps.

3. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes at a crankshaft speed of 2000–3000 min⁻¹ to remove air from the cooling system.

4. Turn off the engine and check the coolant level in the expansion tank. If necessary, bring the fluid level in the tank to normal.
