Sequence of execution
1. Place the vehicle on an inspection ditch or overpass and prepare it for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the air intake system muffler (see "Air filter - removal and installation"), freeing access to the electric fan control unit.
3. Press the lock and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the electric fan control unit.

4. Release the retainer of the wiring harness connector block.

5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the control unit.

6. We check the condition of the terminals of the connecting blocks by visual inspection. If oxides are detected, we treat the terminals with a cleaning agent to protect electrical contacts.
7. Press the lock —

...and remove the electric fan control unit from the casing.

8. By visual inspection we make sure that the spiral is intact and that there is no charring or other damage.

9. Using an ohmmeter, check the additional resistor of the unit for a broken coil. If a fault is detected, we replace the control unit.
10. Install the electric fan control unit in the reverse order.
Assembly and installation
We assemble and install the electric fan in the reverse order.
