Air filter — removal and installation (Vesta 2180)

The operation may be required when repairing the engine and its systems. Therefore, in many cases it makes sense to remove the filter together with the mass air flow sensor or even the air supply hose to the throttle valve.

Removal

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Remove the air filter element (see above) and the battery (see "Battery - Removal and Installation").

3. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two bolts securing the air intake system muffler.



4. Disconnect the air intake system muffler from the air intake pipe and remove the holder from the groove located on the battery shelf.



5. In the inner cavity of the air filter, release the three clamps of the branch pipe...





...we disconnect the pipe from the air filter housing...



...and remove the air intake system muffler.



6. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the air filter housing mounting bolt.



7. Remove the air filter housing by removing protrusion 1...





...from hole 2.

Installation

We install the air filter in the reverse order.
