Recommendation. Malfunctions of the fuel level indicator sensor are most often associated with wear of the contact part of its rheostat. This can be verified by measuring its electrical resistance with an ohmmeter while smoothly moving the lever with the float from one extreme position to another. The faulty sensor should be replaced.
Removal
1. Remove the fuel module (see above, "Fuel module - removal and installation").
2. To remove the fuel level indicator sensor, move the fuel module cover.
3. Remove the wire tip from the fuel pressure regulator terminal.

4. Press the lock of the wiring block and disconnect the block from the fuel module cover.

5. Using a slotted screwdriver, release the wire connector retainer.

6. Disconnect the block from the fuel pump.

7. Release the two fuel level sensor fasteners.

8. Move the sensor along the grooves of the fuel module intake chamber and remove the sensor.
Installation
We install the new fuel level indicator sensor in the reverse order.
