Removing
Comment. The work is labor intensive. In addition, the operation is hampered by a tight arrangement in the engine compartment. You can improve access to the pump by installing a rolling jack under the engine and removing the left support of the power unit. When performing work, you can move the engine to a more convenient position to remove the pump from the cylinder block.
1. Drain the coolant (see «Coolant - replacement»).
2. Remove the rear timing belt cover (see «Timing belt - replacement»).
3. With a 5 mm hex wrench, unscrew the three bolts securing the coolant pump.
4. If necessary, prying with a screwdriver, remove the pump and gasket from the cylinder block.
Installation
Install the water pump in reverse order, replacing the pump gasket with a new one.
Comment. Pumps with a rubber O-ring can be supplied as spare parts. Under such pumps, a gasket is not installed.
