The body of the car VAZ-2170 Lada Priora type four-door sedan, load-bearing structure, consists of a frame and attachments (pic. 11.1).
The body frame includes a base, sidewalls, roof and frame parts connected by electric welding (point, seam, arc), and is a non-separable structure with sufficient rigidity and capable of carrying all vehicle components, hinged body components, interior components and parts, etc.
Mounted assemblies include side doors, hood, trunk lid, front fenders, bumpers. The doors, hood and trunk lid are hinged to the body, the front fenders are bolted.
Front and rear bumpers are plastic, painted in body color, attached with self-tapping screws. The front bumper is equipped with an energy-absorbing beam. The radiator cover is not removable and is part of the bumper.
To improve anti-corrosion properties, most of the body panels are galvanized. On the inside, the front and middle floor panels, body sidewalls, windshield pillar reinforcements are galvanized, on the outside - trunk lid and door panels, front and rear fenders, as well as many other details (over 30).
The windshield is three-layer, triplex type. Glasses of doors, lateral and back glasses tempered. wind, rear (with heating element) and side windows are glued to the body and are part of its power circuit.
The front seats are separate, with adjustable backrests and mechanisms for moving in the longitudinal direction, with easily removable head restraints, adjustable in height. The back of the front seats can be adjusted to a comfortable resting position.
The rear seat of the car with a one-piece cushion and backrest, divided into two parts by a folding armrest. Behind the armrest there is a hatch closed by a lid, after removing which it becomes possible to transport long items in the trunk, partially letting them into the passenger compartment.
The front and rear side seat belts are inertial, and the middle passenger's rear seat belt is non-inertial. To improve passive safety, the car is equipped with an airbag for the driver. In a variant version, the car is additionally equipped with a front passenger airbag and front seat belt pretensioners, which are triggered at the time of an accident at significant vehicle speeds.
A cigarette lighter, front and rear ashtrays, sun visors, a heater, rear-view mirrors, handrails are installed in the car. Under the driver's seat there is a mount for a fire extinguisher, and under the passenger seat for a first aid kit. The car is equipped with front and rear towing eyes, electric door locks, electric trunk lock, electric heated front seats.
The volume, temperature, direction and intensity of air flows in the passenger compartment are regulated by switches installed in the control unit for the heating and ventilation system.
Exhaust ventilation is provided in the body of the Lada Priora car through deflectors with valves installed in the rear part of the body behind the rear bumper.
Note. Do not cover the body with a cover made of dense material during a long-term parking of the car. A rain-soaked cover creates steam when heated in the sun «bath» and the body paint underneath may peel off and swell. In addition, under gusts of wind, the cover moves and abrades the paint on the protruding parts of the body.
Note. Do not place rubber objects on the body. After a while, the rubber will leave on the surface (especially light) indelible stains.
Note. Regularly lubricate the door hinge axles with any liquid lubricant. There were cases when, due to rusted axles, door hinges came off from the body pillars.
Note. If, over time, rubber products on the body of your car are lost «commodity» kind, wipe them with glycerin, hand cream containing glycerin, or silicone grease sold at auto parts stores.
Note. From time to time, pass a thin metal plate between the side glass and the rubber lining on the door - this will remove dust and sand and protect the glass from scratches.
Note. After washing, be sure to remove the rubber mats and dry the interior. Moisture under rugs is the main cause of floor corrosion.
Note. For more rational use of the trunk, turn the spare wheel over and use a shorter wheel bolt. The resulting «capacity» Very handy for storing parts and tools.
