Outdoor Light Switch

Outdoor Lighting Switch (ELS) 1 (figure 31a) has three fixed positions (or four in the variant version):
  • — when the engine is off, the exterior lighting is off; when the engine is on, the daytime running lights (DRL) are on;
  • — side lights combined with DRL are on;
  • — the side lights and low or high beam headlights are on, depending on the position of the light signal switch;
  • — in the variant version, in this position the side lights and low beam headlights are switched on and off automatically depending on the state of the external lighting. The light sensor is combined with the rain sensor and is located on the windshield behind the rearview mirror.

— in the variant version, in this position the side lights and low beam headlights are switched on…

Automatic control system for external lighting (lighting system) allows you to turn on and off the vehicle's side lights and low beam headlights depending on the level of external illumination. For example, at dusk, as well as when entering a tunnel or garage.

The lighting system only operates when the ignition is on. It is important to remember that when the lighting system is operating, the high beam headlights do not turn on for a long time. To turn on the high beam headlights for a long time, you must first move the PNO switch to the "Low beam" position.

Warning! Switching on the external lighting by the automatic control system does not relieve the driver of responsibility for compliance with safety requirements and traffic rules.

Headlight low beam corrector switch

Before operating the vehicle with the low beam on, make sure that the position of the handle 3 of the hydraulic low beam headlight corrector is correct depending on the vehicle loading condition.

Positions of the hydraulic headlight corrector handle (figure 31b) depending on the vehicle loading status:
  • 0 - driver or driver + front passenger;
  • 1 - driver + 4 passengers or driver + cargo in the luggage compartment;
  • 2 - driver + 4 passengers + cargo in the luggage compartment.

2 - driver + 4 passengers + cargo in the luggage compartment.

If necessary, adjust the angle of the low beam headlights by turning handle 3 to align the handle mark with one of the marks on the scale corresponding to the vehicle loading state.

When the hydraulic corrector handle is set to a position outside the scale markings, the tilt of the low beam of the right and left headlights may be asynchronous, which is not a defect.

Warning!
  • Correct adjustment of the headlight beam angle reduces glare for oncoming drivers.
  • To avoid insufficient illumination of the road surface, do not set the handle to the extreme counterclockwise position.

Rear fog light switch

To turn on the fog lights, press switch 2 with the low beam on. Pressing the button again turns off the fog lights.

Front fog light switch (in a variant design)

To turn on the fog lights, press switch 4 with the parking lights on. Pressing the button again turns off the fog lights.

Warning! When driving the vehicle in conditions requiring the fog lights or fog lamps to be on, with the automatic control system of external lighting switched on (the external lighting switch is in the position - in the variant version) the external lighting switch must be set to the position or .

In the variant version, the car has the "Light path" function. When the ignition is off, the driver's door must be opened. Turn on the high beam by holding the light signal switch lever in the non-fixed position; after releasing the lever, the low beam headlights will turn on for 40 seconds. After 40 seconds, the low beam headlights will turn off.

When the "Light path" function is switched on, it can be switched off by switching the high beam on again by holding the light signal switch lever in a non-fixed position or by turning on the ignition switch if the function's operating time has not expired.
