Control voltage is supplied to the additional starter relay

Diagnostics

1. Remove the additional starter relay. Perform a short circuit test to the power source in the circuit of contact "86" of the connector to the additional starter relay.

If there is a short circuit to the power source, perform test 2; if there is no short circuit to the power source, the additional starter relay is faulty.

2. Disconnect the S2 connector from the CBKE. Check for a short to power supply in the circuit:

- contact "B3" of the socket to the CBKE - contact "86" of the socket to the additional starter relay.

If there is a short circuit to the power source, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit to the power source, the CBKE is faulty.

B1520-14

Starter relay – open circuit or short circuit to "ground"

Control voltage is supplied to the additional starter relay

Diagnostics

1. Remove the additional starter relay. Check for a break in the winding of the additional starter relay between contacts "85" and "86" of the relay.

If there is a break, the additional starter relay is faulty; if there is no break, perform test 2.

2. Disconnect the S2 connector from the CBKE. Check for open circuits and short circuits to ground in the circuits:

- contact "B3" of the socket to the CBKE - contact "86" of the socket to the additional starter relay;

- fuse F32 – contact "85" of the socket to the additional starter relay.

If there is an open circuit or short circuit to ground, the circuit is faulty; if there is no open circuit or short circuit to ground, the CBKE is faulty.

B1530-18

Left turn signals - circuit load below acceptable level

Voltage is supplied to turn on the turn signal lamps

Diagnostics

This fault code is set if there is an open in the turn signal circuit (load loss over 21W) or a short circuit to the power source.

1. Disconnect the connector from the headlight, lamp, side turn signal with the inoperative left turn signal lamp. Perform a break check (burnouts) left turn signal lamps between contacts "7" and "8" of the left headlight connector, between contacts "1" and "2" of the left headlight connector, between contacts "5" and "6" of the left outside mirror.

If the lamp is in good condition, perform test 2.

2. Disconnect the P1 connector from the CBKE. Check for breaks in the circuits:

- contact "C5" pads to the CBCE-contact "7" pads to the left headlight;

- "mass" - contact "8" of the connector to the left headlight;

- contact "C5" of the socket to the CBKE - contact "2" of the socket to the left lamp;

- "mass" - contact "1" of the socket to the left lamp;

- contact "C5" of the connector to the central electronic control unit - contact "5" of the connector to the left outside mirror;

- "ground" - contact "6" of the connector to the left outside mirror.

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, perform test 3.

3. Perform a short circuit test to the power source in the circuit to contact "C5" of the block to the CBKE.

If there is a short circuit to the power source, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit to the power source, the CBKE is faulty.

B1530-19

Left turn signals - circuit load exceeds permissible level

Voltage is supplied to turn on the turn signal lamps

Diagnostics

This fault code is set if there is an overload in the turn signal circuit (the consumed load is more than 68 W) or short circuit to ground.

1. Disconnect the P1 connector from the CBKE, disconnect the connectors from the headlight, lamp, and left side turn signal. Perform a short circuit test to ground in the circuit to contact "C5" of the connector to the central control module.

If there is a short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit, perform test 2.

2. Connect the pads to the headlight, lamp, and left side turn signal. Measure the resistance in the circuit:

- "mass" - contact "C5" of the block to the CBKE (the resistance must be at least 3 ohms).

If the resistance is less than 3 Ohms, the circuit is faulty; if the resistance is more than 3 Ohms, the CBKE is faulty.

B1531-18

Right turn signals - circuit load below acceptable level

Voltage is supplied to turn on the turn signal lamps

Diagnostics

This fault code is set if there is an open in the turn signal circuit (load loss over 21W) or a short circuit to the power source.

1. Disconnect the connector from the headlight, lamp, side turn signal with the inoperative right turn signal lamp. Perform a break check (burnouts) right turn signal lamps between contacts "7" and "8" of the right headlight connector, between contacts "1" and "2" of the right headlight connector, between contacts "5" and "6" of the right outside mirror.

If the lamp is in good condition, perform test 2.

2. Disconnect the P1 connector from the CBKE. Check for breaks in the circuits:

- contact "C12" of the connector to the CBKE - contact "7" of the connector to the right headlight;

- "mass" - contact "8" of the connector to the right headlight;

- contact "C12" of the socket to the central electronic control unit - contact "2" of the socket to the right lamp;

- "mass" - contact "1" of the socket to the right lamp;

- contact "C12" of the connector to the central electronic control unit - contact "5" of the connector to the right outside mirror;

- "ground" - contact "6" of the connector to the right outside mirror.

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, perform test 3.

3 Perform a short circuit test to the power source in the circuit to contact "C5" of the block to the CBKE.

If there is a short circuit to the power source, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit to the power source, the CBKE is faulty.

B1531-19

Right turn signals - circuit load exceeds permissible level

Voltage is supplied to turn on the turn signal lamps

Diagnostics

This fault code is set if there is an overload in the turn signal circuit (the consumed load is more than 68 W) or short circuit to ground.

1. Disconnect the P1 connector from the CBKE, disconnect the connectors from the headlight, lamp, and right side turn signal. Perform a short circuit test to ground in the circuit to contact "C12" of the connector to the central control module.

2. Connect the pads to the headlight, lamp, and right side turn signal. Measure the resistance in the circuit:

- "mass" - contact "C12" of the block to the CBKE (the resistance must be at least 3 ohms).

If the resistance is less than 3 Ohms, the circuit is faulty; if the resistance is more than 3 Ohms, the CBKE is faulty.

B1560-23

Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Circuit Low

Ignition is on

Diagnostics

This fault code is entered if, while the vehicle is moving and gears are shifted, a low-level signal from the VSPPS is constantly present at the CBKE input (contact "A21").

1. Disconnect the connector from the VSPPS. Check the functionality of the switch - when the clutch pedal is depressed, the switch contacts should be open.

If the switch contacts are open when the clutch pedal is depressed, perform test 2; if the contacts are closed, the VSPPS is faulty or incorrectly installed.

2. Disconnect the S1 connector from the CBKE. Check for a short to ground in the circuit:

- contact "A21" of the socket to the CBKE is the corresponding contact of the socket to the VSPPS.

If there is a short circuit to ground, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit to ground, the central electronic control unit is faulty.

B1560-24

Clutch Pedal Position Sensor Circuit High

Ignition is on

Diagnostics

This fault code is entered if, when the vehicle is stationary, a high-level signal from the VSPPS is constantly present at the input of the CBKE (contact "A21").

1. Disconnect the connector from the VSPPS. Check the functionality of the switch - when the clutch pedal is released, the switch contacts should be closed.

If the switch contacts are closed when the clutch pedal is released, perform test 2; if the contacts are open, the VSPPS is faulty or incorrectly installed.

2. Disconnect the S1 connector from the CBKE. Check for open circuits in the circuits:

- contact "A21" of the socket to the CBKE - the corresponding contact of the socket to the VSPPS;

- "mass" - the corresponding contact of the block to the VSPPS.

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, the CBKE is faulty.

B1505-01

Driver's door lock gear motor - general fault

Control voltage is supplied to the driver's door lock gearmotor (locking/unlocking the lock from the door lock switch or remote control)

Diagnostics

1. Disconnect the connector from the driver's door lock. Check for a break in the gearmotor winding between contacts "1" and "2" of the gearmotor connector.

If there is a break, the gear motor is faulty; if there is no break, perform check 2.

2. Disconnect connector P2 from the CBKE. Check for breaks, short circuits to ground and power source in the circuits:

- contact "P2/D3" of the connector to the central electronic control unit - contact "2" of the connector to the left front door lock;

- contact "P2/D2" of the connector to the central electronic control unit - contact "1" of the connector to the left front door lock.

If there is a break or short circuit to ground or power source, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break or short circuit to ground or power source, the CBKE is faulty.

B1532-11

Motor reducer of the trunk lid lock (tailgate) - short circuit to "ground"

Control voltage is supplied to the trunk lock gear motor (trunk opening from a button in the cabin or from the remote control)

Diagnostics

1. Disconnect the shoe from the trunk lock gear motor. Disconnect connector P2 from the CBKE. Check for short circuit to ground in the circuit:

- contact "P2/D11" of the connector to the CBKE - contact "4" of the connector to the trunk locking electric motor;

If there is a short circuit to ground, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit to ground, the central electronic control unit is faulty.

B1532-15

Motor reducer of the trunk lid lock (tailgate) - break or short circuit to the power source

Control voltage is supplied to the trunk lock gear motor (trunk opening from a button in the cabin or from the remote control)

Diagnostics

1. Disconnect the shoe from the trunk lock gear motor. Check for a break in the gearmotor winding between contacts "3" and "4" of the gearmotor connector.

If there is a break, the gear motor is faulty; if there is no break, perform check 2.

2. Disconnect the P2 connector from the CBKE. Check for breaks in the circuits:

- contact "P2/D11" of the connector to the CBKE - contact "4" of the connector to the trunk locking electric motor;

- "ground" - contact "3" of the shoe to the trunk lock electric motor.

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, perform test 3.

3. Perform a short circuit test to the power source in the circuit:

- contact "P2/D11" of the connector to the central electronic control unit - contact "4" of the connector to the trunk lock electric motor.

If there is a short circuit to the power source, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit to the power source, the CBKE is faulty.

Transceiver power supply circuit

Turn on the ignition

Diagnostics

1. Disconnect the connector from the immobilizer antenna. Check the supply voltage between contacts "3" and "2" of the immobilizer antenna connector with the ignition on.

If there is voltage from the vehicle's electrical system between contacts "3" and "2", perform test 2; if not, perform test 3.

2. Disconnect the S1 connector from the CBKE. Check for open circuits and short circuits to ground in the circuits:

- contact "S1/A17" of the socket to the CBKE - contact "4" of the socket to the immobilizer antenna;

- contact "S1/A18" of the socket to the CBKE - contact "1" of the socket to the immobilizer antenna.

If there is a break or short circuit to ground, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break or short circuit to ground, the immobilizer antenna is faulty.

3. Disconnect the P1 connector from the CBKE. Check for breaks in the circuits:

- contact "P1/C4" of the socket to the CBKE - contact "3" of the socket to the immobilizer antenna;

- "ground" - contact "1" of the block to the immobilizer antenna.

Check the short circuit between contacts "3" and "1" of the connector to the immobilizer antenna.

If there is a break or short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break or short circuit, the power supply circuits of the CBKE are faulty or the CBKE is faulty.

B1008

Open circuit in alarm sound signal control circuit

Control voltage applied to alarm signal (enabling the security mode with an open security zone, enabling the alarm mode, teaching the remote control)

Diagnostics

1. Disconnect the connector from the alarm sound signal. Perform a break check in the horn winding between contacts "1" and "2" of the horn connector.

If there is a break, the sound signal is faulty; if there is no break, perform test 2.

2. Disconnect the XP2 connector from the CBKE. Check for breaks in the circuits:

- contact "XP2/1" of the block to the TsBKE – contact "2" of the block to the alarm sound signal;

- "ground" – contact "1" of the block to the alarm sound signal.

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, the CBKE is faulty.

B1017

Central Body Electronics Unit ROM Checksum Error

The ignition is on

Diagnostics

1. Clear the fault code using a diagnostic tool.

If the code is entered again, the central control unit is faulty.

B1018

Short circuit in the rear window heating relay winding circuit

Voltage is supplied to turn on the rear window heating

Diagnostics

The CBKE sends a low-level signal to the relay control circuit.

1. Disconnect the XP1 connector from the CBKE, remove the rear window heating relay from the mounting block. Perform a short circuit test to ground and to power supply in the circuit:

- contact "XP1/3" of the block to the CBKE - rear window heating switch - contact "60" of the mounting block.

If there is a short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit, the relay is faulty (short circuit in relay winding).

B1019

Short circuit in the windshield heating relay coil circuit

Voltage is supplied to the heated windshield (turn on the heated windshield)

Diagnostics

The CBKE sends a low-level signal to the relay control circuit.

1. Disconnect the XP1 connector from the central control unit, remove the windshield heating relay from the connectors. Perform a short circuit test to the power source in the circuit:

- contact "XP1/4" of the block to the central heating element - contact "85" of the block to the windshield heating relay.

If there is a short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit, the relay is faulty (short circuit in relay winding).

B1021

Windscreen wiper malfunction

Manual or automatic windshield wiper mode is on

Diagnostics (for LADA GRANTA cars)

This fault code is stored if the wiper does not return to the park position.

1. Disconnect the connector from the windshield wiper. Check the supply voltage between contacts "4" and "5" of the connector.

If there is voltage from the vehicle's electrical system at the contacts, perform test 2; if not, perform a break check in the circuits:

- contact "4" of the block to the windshield wiper - contact "42" of the mounting block (fuse F3);

- contact "5" of the windshield wiper block – "ground".

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, fuse F3 is faulty.

2. Disconnect the XP1 connector from the CBKE. Check for an open circuit:

- contact "XP2/7" of the block to the central control unit - contact "7" of the block to the windshield wiper.

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, the windshield wiper is faulty (park limit switch malfunction).

U1048

CAN bus failure

The ignition is on

Diagnostics

This fault code is set if there is no communication between the ECM and the ECM or instrument cluster.

1. Disconnect the XP3 connector from the CBKE. Check for open and short circuits in the CAN bus circuit:

- to contact "XP3/15" of the connector to the CBKE;

- to contact "XP3/16" of the connector to the CBKE.

If there is a break or short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break or short circuit, the CBKE is faulty.

B1049

High voltage on-board network

The engine is running

This fault code is recorded if the supply voltage of the CBKE is > 15 V.

1. Check the reliability of the terminals connection to the battery. Start the engine. Check the supply voltage at the battery terminals.

If the supply voltage at the battery terminals is > 15 V, check the operation of the generator.

B1028 *

Short to ground in rain sensor sensitivity controller circuit

The ignition is on

Diagnostics.

1. Disconnect the XP3 connector from the CBKE and the connector from the rain sensor sensitivity regulator. Perform a short to ground test in the circuit:

- contact "XP3/13" of the connector to the central control unit - contact "2" of the connector to the rain sensor sensitivity regulator.

If there is a short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit, perform test 2.

2. Check for a short circuit in the circuit between contacts "1" and "2" of the rain sensor sensitivity regulator connector.

If there is a short circuit, the rain sensor sensitivity regulator is faulty; if there is no short circuit, the rain sensor control unit is faulty.

B1030

Cliff (lamp burnout) daytime running lights

Voltage is supplied to turn on the daytime running lights after the engine is started

Diagnostics (for LADA GRANTA cars)

1. Disconnect the connector from the headlight with the inoperative daytime running light bulb. Perform a break check (burnouts) daytime running lights between contacts "6" and "8" of the headlight connector.

If the lamp is in good condition, perform test 2.

2. Disconnect the XP2 connector from the CBKE. Check for breaks in the circuits:

- contact "XP2/6" of the socket to the CBKE - contact "6" of the socket to the headlight;

- "ground" - contact "8" of the connector to the headlight.

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, the CBKE is faulty.

B1031 *

Open circuit in the rain sensor sensitivity regulator

The ignition is on. Presence of signals from the rain sensor or the switch of the lighting control module in position "A"

Diagnostics

1. Disconnect the XP3 connector from the CBKE. Check for an open circuit:

- contact "XP3/13" of the block to the central electronic control unit – "ground".

If there is a break, perform test 2; if there is no break, the CBKE is faulty.

2. Disconnect the connector from the rain sensor sensitivity regulator. Perform a break check in the circuits:

- contact "XP3/13" of the connector to the CBKE - contact "2" of the connector to the rain sensor sensitivity regulator;

- "ground" - contact "1" of the block to the rain sensor sensitivity regulator.

If there is a break, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break, the rain sensor sensitivity regulator is faulty.

B1040

Open or short to ground in the low beam headlight relay winding circuit

The ignition is on. Low beam headlights are off

Diagnostics

The CBKE sends a low-level signal to the relay control circuit.

1. Disconnect the XP1 connector from the CBKE, remove the low beam headlight relay from the mounting block. Perform a check for open circuits and short circuits to ground in the circuit:

- contact "XP1/19" of the connector to the CBKE - contact "83" of the mounting block.

If there is a break or short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no break or short circuit, the relay is faulty (break in relay winding).

Short circuit in the winding circuit of the automatic lighting control relay

The ignition is on

Diagnostics

The CBKE sends a low-level signal to the relay control circuit.

1. Disconnect the XP1 connector from the CBKE, disconnect the connector from the MUS. Check for short circuits to ground and to the power source in the circuit:

- contact "XP1/13" of the socket to the CBKE - contact "1" of the socket to the MUS.

If there is a short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit, the automatic lighting control relay is faulty (short circuit in the winding of relay K1 MUS).

Short circuit in the winding circuit of the high beam headlight relay

The ignition is on

Diagnostics

The CBKE sends a low-level signal to the relay control circuit.

1. Disconnect the XP1 connector from the CBKE, remove the high beam headlight relay from the mounting block. Perform a short circuit test to ground and to power supply in the circuit:

- contact "XP1/18" of the connector to the CBKE - contact "57" of the mounting block.

If there is a short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit, the relay is faulty (short circuit in relay winding).

B1043

Short circuit in the winding circuit of the low beam headlight relay

Voltage is supplied to the central control unit to turn on the low beam headlights

Diagnostics

The CBKE sends a low-level signal to the relay control circuit.

1. Disconnect the XP1 connector from the CBKE, remove the low beam headlight relay from the mounting block. Perform a short circuit test to the power source in the circuit:

- contact "XP1/19" of the connector to the CBKE - contact "83" of the mounting block.

If there is a short circuit, the circuit is faulty; if there is no short circuit, the relay is faulty (short circuit in relay winding).
