You will need a 10 mm wrench.
1. Remove the front bumper (see "Removing and installing the front bumper").

2. Mark the position of the washers relative to the body. This will make it easier to further adjust the position of the lock.

3. Remove the two bolts securing the lock.

4. Turn the lock 180° and remove it from behind the amplifier 1 with the spacer to gain access to the place where the rod is attached to the lever 2 of the lock. Disconnect the rod from the lever (see "Replacing the hood lock drive rod").

5. Replace broken, cracked or stretched springs. To do this, use a screwdriver to detach the spring first from the lever and then from the loop on the lock body. Install the new spring in the reverse order of removal. In this case, it is more convenient to connect the spring to the lever using pliers.
6. Install the lock in the reverse order of removal. After this, check the ease of opening and the reliability of the hood lock and, if necessary, adjust the position of the lock (see "Adjusting the position of the hood lock").

7. To replace the hood safety hook, mark the position of its bracket relative to the hood. This will make it easier to further adjust the position of the hook. Loosen the two nuts securing the safety hook and remove the hook. When installing the hook, before finally tightening the nuts, adjust the position of the hook using the enlarged holes in the bracket. Finally tighten the bolts after you are sure that the hook securely holds the hood closed and the hood opens freely when you press the hook handle.
