Removal
Place the vehicle on the work post, apply the parking brake and turn off the ignition.
Remove the brake light switch.
Disconnect the vacuum booster from the brake pedal by turning the locking flag of the connecting axle upward and removing the axle from the holes of the vacuum booster pusher and the brake pedal.
For vehicles with a cable release clutch, disconnect the clutch release cable from the clutch pedal.
For vehicles with hydraulic clutch release - disconnect the clutch master cylinder rod head from the clutch pedal (flat head screwdriver).

Remove the two spring washers securing the noise-insulating pad from the pedal assembly mounting studs and remove the pad (flat head screwdriver).
Unscrew the five nuts 2, Figure 5-3, securing the bracket 1 of the pedal assembly to the vacuum booster and the front shield. Remove the pedal assembly (replaceable head 13, extension, ratchet wrench).
If necessary, remove the clutch pedal from the pedal assembly bracket.
If necessary, remove the brake pedal from the pedal assembly bracket.
Installation
If it was removed, install the clutch pedal on the pedal assembly bracket.
If it was removed, install the brake pedal on the pedal assembly bracket.
Install the pedal assembly in place and secure it to the front panel and vacuum booster with five nuts. Tightening torque of nuts 21 Nm (2.1 kgf·m) (replaceable head 13, extension, ratchet wrench, torque wrench).
For vehicles with a cable release drive - install and adjust the stroke of the clutch release cable.
For vehicles with hydraulic clutch release - connect the clutch master cylinder piston head to the clutch pedal.
Attention: The connecting axis between the vacuum booster pushrod and the brake pedal must be replaced.
Connect the vacuum booster to the brake pedal by installing a new connecting axle into the booster and brake pedal pusher holes and snapping the axle flag onto the pusher rod. The axis is installed only by moving from right to left and from top to bottom. Before installation on the axle, apply 1 g of MOLYCOTE ZZM grease (MOLYCOTE ZZM plastic grease according to the current "Codifier of main and auxiliary materials used in maintenance and repair of LADA vehicles" K 3100.25100.00018).
Attention. The bolt and nut that secure the cardan joint fork of the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear pinion shaft must be replaced.
Install the cardan joint fork of the intermediate steering shaft onto the steering gear shaft and secure it with a bolt and nut. Bolt tightening torque 21 Nm (2.1 kgf·m) (spanner 13, replaceable head 13, ratchet wrench, torque wrench).
Install and adjust the brake light switch.
Install the soundproofing pad in place and secure it with two spring washers (technological tube).
Check the efficiency of the service brake system.
