Granta family cars are equipped with two ignition switch keys (see section "Keys").
One ignition switch key with a black mark on the end or with a remote control (in a variant design) - working key. It is used to remove the engine start prohibition. This key is recommended for everyday use.
The second ignition switch key with a red mark on the end is the training key. It serves to remove the engine start prohibition, as well as to activate (training, retraining) immobilizer and (in a variant design) remote control locking systems (unlocking) doors.
It is possible to train and operate the immobilizer with one to four working keys.
Attention! The sale of a vehicle equipped with an immobilizer without its activation is not permitted. The procedure for activating the immobilizer must be performed at pre-sale vehicle preparation points or at certified PSSNs in the presence of the vehicle owner. If the owner refuses to perform this procedure, an entry must be made in the service book with the signature of the sales dealer, the company seal and the owner's signature.
Due to the importance of the learning key, it is not recommended to use the ignition key with the red mark for everyday driving. It must be stored in a safe place. In case of loss of the training key, warranty obligations for the immobilizer, engine control controller, driver's door module (in a variant design) are not accepted.
Installation of alarms, security systems and other additional electrical and electronic devices by cutting and twisting wires is not permitted (without using standard pads) or bypassing the standard door lock control unit. Failure of the door locking gear motor, gear motor control unit, central body electronics unit (in a variant design) due to incorrect connection of additional devices, the factory warranty does not apply.
The immobilizer has a signaling device
Signaling device
- if after turning on the ignition the indicator does not light or flash, then the immobilizer is working properly and the engine can be started;
- if after turning on the ignition the indicator lights up, stays on for about 15 seconds and goes out, it means the immobilizer is not activated, the engine start prohibition mode does not work, you should contact a certified SSNS to activate the immobilizer;
- if the indicator flashes after the ignition is turned on, the immobilizer is faulty. The immobilizer malfunction is additionally diagnosed by short beeps from the buzzer. You should contact a certified PSSS to eliminate the malfunction.
Attention! To ensure stable reading of the ignition switch key code by the immobilizer, it is not allowed to attach two or more ignition switch keys to one ring.
Turning off the ignition with the training key causes the immobilizer indicator to flash, which is not a sign of a malfunction.
