Removal
1. Remove the camshafts (see above, "Camshafts - Removal and Installation").
Recommendation. When assembling, it is recommended to install the hydraulic tappets in their original places.
2. Using a magnet, remove the hydraulic tappets from the mounting holes and mark their serial numbers with a marker.
3. To prevent dirt from getting inside the hydraulic tappets and causing them to fail, lay the tappets out on a clean sheet of paper.
Installation
We install the hydraulic tappets in the reverse order.
Recommendation. Before installation, soak each hydraulic lifter in a container of clean engine oil. Press the compensator valve several times until air bubbles stop escaping to fill its internal cavity with oil.
