1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the alternator drive belt (see "Replacing the alternator drive belt").

3. Disconnect the connector with the wire from the "D+" terminal of the generator.

4. Remove the rubber boot, unscrew the nut...

5. ...and disconnect the wires from the contact pin.

6. Unscrew the nut of the generator lower mounting bolt to the bracket...

7. ... remove the nut together with the spacer sleeve...

8. ...and remove the generator lower mounting bolt.

9. Finally, unscrew the nut securing the generator to the upper bracket...

10. ...after completely unscrewing the adjusting bolt 1, remove the tension bar 2...

11. ...and remove the generator from the car.
12. Install the generator in the reverse order of removal.
13. Adjust the belt tension (see "Checking the alternator drive belt tension"). Tighten the generator tension bar mounting nut to a torque of 20 N·m (2 kgf·m).
