1. Check the tension of the alternator drive belt by pressing your finger between the alternator pulleys and the crankshaft. When pressed with a force of 100 N (10 kgf) belt deflection should be 8–12 mm.
Note. To check the tension, you can use a steelyard scale by pulling a branch of the belt with a hook.
2. To adjust the belt tension, loosen the nut securing the generator to the tension bracket.
3. Adjust the belt tension with the adjusting bolt.
4. Tighten the nut securing the generator to the tension bar to 21 Nm.
