1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the instrument cluster (see "Removal and installation of the instrument cluster").
3. Turn the socket with the lamp being replaced counterclockwise…
4. …and remove it from the mounting socket.
5. Remove the lamp from the socket.

6. Install the lamp in the reverse order of removal.
7. Turn the socket with the trip computer indicator backlight lamp counterclockwise and remove it from the installation socket.
Note: The trip computer indicator backlight lamp is supplied as a spare part complete with a socket.
8. Install the new socket with the lamp in the reverse order of removal.
