Ignition coil engine K4M
In this version, the spark plug is included directly in the module kit; high-voltage wires are absent. The ignition module is controlled by the ECU.
Location of ignition module for K4M engine: 1 — ignition coil mounting bolt; 2 - ignition module; 3 - spark plug
The coil (module) is removed both for replacement and for access to the spark plugs.
Removal
Place the vehicle in a work area, apply the parking brake, turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground wire terminal from the battery.
Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the ignition coils 1, Figure 11-18.

Loosen the 2 ignition coil mounting bolts and remove the ignition coils (replaceable head 8, extension, ratchet).
Installation
Before installing the ignition coils, replace the bolts 2, Figure 11-18, securing the ignition coils with new ones; if necessary, replace the sealing rings of the ignition coils.
Before installing the ignition coils, apply 2 mm of FLUOSTAR 2L to the inner circumference of the ignition coil cap on the spark plug and ignition coil side.
Install ignition coils 1 on the spark plugs, screw in and tighten the ignition coil mounting bolts. Tightening torque of bolts 14 Nm (1.4 kgf·m) (replaceable head 8, extension, ratchet, torque wrench).
Connect the wiring harness connectors to the ignition coils.
Connect the ground wire terminal to the battery.
