Removal
Place the vehicle in a work area, apply the parking brake, turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground wire terminal from the battery.
Loosen the mounting bolt, detach bracket 1, Figure 11-17, and move it to the side (replacement head 10, extension, ratchet).

Disconnect connector 2 of the wiring harness from controller 3 of the ECM.
Unscrew nuts 4 and remove the ECU controller (replacement head 10, extension, ratchet).
Installation
Install controller 3, figure 11-17, ECM on the vehicle, install and tighten nuts 4. Tightening torque of nuts 8 N·m (0.8 kgf·m) (replaceable head 10, extension, ratchet, torque wrench).
Connect connector 2 of the wiring harness to the ECM controller.
Install bracket 1, install and tighten the bracket mounting bolt (replacement head 10, extension, ratchet).
Connect the ground wire terminal to the battery.
