The quality of the produced transmission oils and the perfection of the design of the transmission of a modern car allow not to change the oil in a manual gearbox during the entire service life of the unit. There is also no need to check the transmission oil level of a manual gearbox, unless, of course, an oil leak is detected.
If a transmission oil leak is detected from the unit, it is necessary to eliminate the malfunction as soon as possible and bring the oil level in the gearbox housing to the norm (see "Gearbox - Checking the transmission oil level").
Only the recommended brand and type of transmission oil should be added to the gearbox.
The need to change the transmission oil (see "Gearbox - Transmission Oil Change") may occur due to violation of vehicle operating conditions, when replacing front wheel drives and repairing the gearbox, as well as when the vehicle has very high mileage or a long service life.
