Install a clamp on the low pressure line running from the reservoir to the power steering pump (clamp Ms. 583).
Caution: When performing work, take precautions to protect the generator from oil ingress.
For vehicles with K4M engine - remove the fuel rail protection.
Disconnect the ignition system wiring harness connector from the oil pressure sensor and remove the sensor (spanner 21).
Install a fitting adapter instead of the pressure sensor and connect a pressure gauge to it (nipple Dir. 1204, pressure gauge Fre. 244-03, spanner 21, spanner 17).
Remove the clamp from the low pressure line.
Bring the oil level in the power steering reservoir up to normal (power Steering Oil Mobil ATF 52475).
Caution: To prevent damage to the power steering system, do not hold the steering wheel in extreme positions.
Bleed the power steering system.
Start the engine, turn the steering wheel to one of the extreme positions and check the pressure developed by the power steering pump. If the pressure does not correspond to the standard 75±5 bar, replace the power steering pump.
Stop the engine.
Install a clamp on the low pressure line running from the reservoir to the power steering pump (clamp Ms. 583).
Disconnect the pressure gauge and unscrew the adapter (spanner 21, spanner 17).

Caution: Be sure to replace the sealing ring before installing the pressure sensor.
Install a new sealing ring on the pressure sensor and screw the sensor into the high pressure line. The sensor tightening torque is 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m) (21 spanner, replaceable insert 21 type 58 23 10 21 f. "Stahlwille", torque wrench type 50 18 00 04 f. "Stahlwille").
Connect the ignition system wiring harness connector to the power steering pressure sensor.
Remove the clamp from the low pressure line.
Bring the oil level in the power steering reservoir up to normal (power Steering Oil Mobil ATF 52475).
Bleed the power steering system.
Start the engine and make sure the power steering system is tight; if an oil leak is detected, correct the problem.
For vehicles with K4M engine - install fuel rail protection.
