Advice: When adjusting the longitudinal tilt angle of the steering axis at a service center, the longitudinal brace will be removed again, so it is better to replace the brace there, at the same time as the adjustment.
To carry out the work, you will need an inspection pit or overpass.
Removal
The Council. To minimize the violation of the adjustment of the longitudinal tilt angle of the pivot axis when installing an old longitudinal extension, count and write down the number of adjustment washers located at the rear and front ends of the extension.
1. Remove the tensioner mounting bracket ("Stretch mount bracket - removal and installation").
2. Holding the tensioner from turning with a 24 mm open-end wrench, use a second wrench of the same size with a long handle to unscrew the nut securing the front end of the longitudinal tensioner to the transverse arm.
3. Remove the thrust washer from the tension rod, extract the rear end of the tension rod from the rubber-steel hinge of the transverse arm and remove the adjusting washers from the tension rod.
Installation
We install the longitudinal stretch in the reverse order.
Warning: When installing the adjusting washer, it is necessary that the chamfer on its inner edge faces the brace.
Recommendation. After replacing the longitudinal strut, it is necessary to check the installation angles of the front wheels at a service center.
