- a puller for pressing out the fingers of the ball bearings;
- car stand.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for work («Preparing the car for maintenance and repair»).
2. Remove the front wheel of the car («Front suspension strut - removal and installation»).
3. Using a 19 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nut of the ball joint pin.
4. Using a 17 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two bolts securing the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
5. Install a puller on the end of the lever.
6. Wrapping the puller bolt, press the ball joint pin out of the lever hole and remove the ball joint.
Installation
Recommendation. If you are going to install a used ball joint, first remove the protective cover from it and apply grease (ShRB-4, Litol-24 or similar) into the hinge of the ball joint and onto the inner surface of the protective cover of the support.
Install the ball joint in the reverse order of removal.
