Removal
Place the vehicle on a two-post lift, apply the parking brake and turn off the ignition (electro-hydraulic lift type P-3.2G with a lifting capacity of 3.2 t).
Remove the front wheel in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20594.
Remove the outer tie rod end in accordance with the requirements of paragraph. 8 of this TI.
Loosen and remove the wheel alignment lock nut (spanner 13, spanner 21).

Caution: To prevent dirt from getting into the steering gear, be sure to clean and blow out the outer surfaces of the cover being removed with compressed air before removing the protective cover.
Cut the clamp 2, figure 9-1, fastenings and remove the protective cover 3 (technological knife).
Installation
Caution: Reuse of the inner tie rod joint boot is not permitted. After dismantling, use a new cover.
Clean the seating surfaces under the inner hinge protective cover (Surface cleaner, part number 77 11 238 181).
Apply silicone-containing grease to the mounting surfaces of the protective cover (Silicone-containing grease, part number 77 11 236 168).
Attention: Before installing the cover, set the steering gear to the position corresponding to the straight-line movement of the car. This position of the mechanism allows for an equal amount of air in the internal volumes under the right and left protective covers.
Install the new protective cover in place and secure it to the steering gear housing with a new clamp (pliers).
Install the wheel alignment lock nut on the steering rod (spanner 13, spanner 21).
Install the outer tie rod end in place in accordance with the requirements of paragraph. 8 of this TI.
Install the front wheel in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.20594.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment angles in accordance with the requirements of TI 3100.25100.13060.
Present the vehicle to the Quality Control Department. The Quality Control Department will check the vehicle for compliance with the requirements of TU 017200-254-00232934, paragraph 1.19.20 in the scope of work performed.
