Seat belts are an effective means of protecting the driver and passengers from the serious consequences of a road traffic accident (RTA).
The front row seat belts have a pre-tensioning device designed to take up any possible slack in the belt webbing, as well as a load limiting device that reduces the force required to hold the occupant in order to provide more effective protection in the event of an accident.
Your vehicle is equipped with a seat belt warning system. When the ignition is turned on, if the driver's seat belt is not fastened, the indicator in the interior lighting unit turns on
"Seat belt" (see subsection "Interior lighting unit" in section "7. Interior lighting and vehicle comfort"). When the vehicle is moving, the activation of the light indicator is duplicated by an intermittent sound signal. After boarding a vehicle, always fasten your seat belts, do not transport passengers who are not wearing seat belts – comply with the requirements of the Road Traffic Regulations. Use a separate seat belt for each passenger, adult or child. If the seat belt becomes dirty, use a soft cloth dampened with a mild soap solution to clean it. Do not use aggressive or abrasive materials to clean belts.
In all cases requiring repair or replacement of seat belts, contact your LADA dealer.
Attention! It is prohibited:
- Self-dismantling of seat belts, disassembly, repair, ignition, connection to voltage sources.
- Replacing seat belts yourself.
- Exposing seat belts to high temperatures (for example, ironing, burning with a lighter, a smoldering cigarette, etc.).
- allow the seat belt straps to twist when fastening.
- use any objects to loosen the belt from the body (for example, clothespins, clamps, etc.). A loose seat belt can lead to injury in an accident.
- use any objects to disable the seat belt warning system.
- Pass the diagonal branch of the belt under your arm or behind your back. Pass the waist section of the belt under the hips.
- use one belt to secure several people.
- To fasten a person with a child sitting on his lap with one belt.
- use a seat belt if it shows signs of wear or damage (abrasions, tears, cracks and other damage).
- use seat belts after an accident without prior assessment (and/or replacements) at the LADA dealer.
- Fasten a seat belt to a buckle designed for another belt.
- do not allow foreign objects to enter the seat belt attachment areas or the belt path areas.
- Wearing a seat belt in violation of the requirements of this manual.

To fasten your seat belt (Figure 2.9) smoothly pull it out of the reel and insert tongue 2 into lock 1 until it clicks, without allowing the tapes to twist.
Check that the belt is securely fastened in the buckle by pulling the tongue.
When fastening the rear seat belts (Figure 2.10) do not mix up the locks. The rear side seat belts 1 must be fastened to the corresponding red buckles 2. The rear middle seat belt 3 is first fastened with its lower tongue to the black buckle 4, and then with its sliding tongue to the red buckle 5.
If the locking mechanism is activated when pulling the belt, release the belt back and pull it out again.
If your seat belt is initially fully locked, make sure the vehicle is on a level surface (the locking mechanism may be activated when parked on an incline (downhill) or partially driven onto a curb), then slowly but firmly pull the belt and pull it out about 3 cm. Then release the belt to retract and pull it out again.

Adjusting seat belts
Before starting the engine, adjust the driver's seat, front passenger seat and seat belts to ensure the best protection.
Sit on the seat, leaning back fully. The diagonal branch of the belt should be positioned as close as possible to the base of the neck, but not resting on it. The lap section of the belt should fit snugly across the hips. Pregnant women should use seat belts with the lap section of the belt as low and comfortable as possible. The lap section of the belt must not be placed on the waist or stomach.
The belt should fit as tightly to the body as possible. When driving, do not wear bulky clothing and do not allow foreign objects to get under the belt.
To adjust the position of the lap section of the belt, position it as low as possible on your hips and pull the diagonal section of the belt, as shown in Figure 2.9, until the belt fits snugly against your body.
To adjust the position of the diagonal branch of the belt relative to the neck (for front seats only) press key 6 (Figure 2.11) adjuster and set the front seat belt guide 7 to one of the fixed positions so that the belt webbing crosses the central part of the shoulder, but does not touch the neck. Once you have finished adjusting the belt, make sure it is securely fastened.
Unfastening the seat belt
To unfasten the belt, press the red button on the lock, the belt will retract automatically. To ensure complete retraction, guide the belt by holding the tongue with your hand.
Before leaving the vehicle, make sure the seat belt has returned to its original position to avoid any belt components getting caught in the door opening. This could result in damage to the seat belt when the door is closed. In this case, the belt may be unsuitable for further use.
