The front and rear seats are equipped with headrests, which serve not only for the convenience of the driver and passengers, but, first of all, help to provide protection for the head and neck in the event of a road traffic accident (RTA).

The middle headrest on the rear seat is installed as an option.

To achieve maximum protection in the event of an accident, the top edge of the front head restraint should be approximately level with the top of the head (Figure 2.6).

The headrest has guide rods with serrated slots-locks that prevent it from lowering spontaneously (safety device in case of accident).

The front head restraints have four intermediate and two extreme fixed positions, the rear head restraints have only one fixed upper position. The lowest position of the rear head restraints is not in use and should not be used if there is a passenger in the corresponding position of the rear seat.

Headrest height adjustment (Figure 2.7).

Figure 2.7. Headrest height adjustment

To raise the headrest, pull it up to the desired locked position.

To lower it down, press the latch and the headrest simultaneously.

to remove the headrest, lift it to its maximum height, then press the release button while pulling the headrest out. If the roof lining interferes with removing the head restraint, recline the seat back.

to install the headrest in place, insert the rods into the holes in the guide bushings (if necessary, recline the seat back). Then adjust the headrest to the desired height.

Warning!
  • The vehicle may only be driven with the head restraints in the correct position.
  • Removal or incorrectly adjusting head restraints can result in serious head and neck injuries in the event of an accident. Make sure the head restraints are adjusted and in a locked position before driving.
  • Do not adjust the height of the head restraints while the vehicle is moving.
  • When lowering the rear head restraints to their lowest position, be careful not to get your fingers pinched.
