Checking the tightness of fuel lines (Priora 2170)

To prevent sudden failure of the engine fuel system, carefully check the condition of all fuel pressure lines, their connections and attachment points to the underbody of the vehicle during each maintenance. Replace fuel lines with new ones if there is the slightest doubt about their suitability.

Check the tightness by external inspection:

• from below the car (on a lift or inspection pit);
• inside the car;
• from above, from under the hood.

1. Inspect the fuel line connections to the fine fuel filter…



2. …connecting the air bleed hose…



3. …filler hose and steam outlet pipe.





4. Check the fastening of the pipelines…



5. …and steam pipes in holders. Loosening or breaking of the holders leads to vibration and, as a result, to failure of the pipelines. If cracks, abrasions or fuel leaks are found, replace the damaged fuel lines. Replace damaged fasteners.



6. Remove the fuel pump module hatch and check the tightness of the connections marked with arrows. If fuel leaks are detected, replace the hose end sealing rings.





7. Inspect the engine compartment on both sides of the flexible hose connections to the fuel lines…



8. …and fuel lines with a fuel rail.



9. Check the tightness of the Schrader valve for measuring pressure in the fuel rail. If fuel leakage is detected, replace the valve core.
