Note. Rear wiper part numbers see here.
The rear wiper is installed on the left tailgate, under the trim. The cleaner consists of a motor-reducer, a lever and a brush. The electric motor of the cleaner is two-brush with excitation from permanent magnets.
We carry out work when replacing the tailgate wiper motor, as well as when removing the outer handle and lock drive of the left tailgate.
The tailgate glass cleaner is fixed to the inner panel of the left door with three special disposable rivets, which have their own catalog number.
Rear wiper motor rivet
If the installation of the motor after removal is planned in an original way (those. on rivets), then it is necessary to have both the rivets themselves and a special tool for installing them. Since most car owners do not have this tool, and its purchase is costly, this section proposes two simple ways to mount the windshield wiper that do not require special tools.
Disconnect the wire terminal from «negative» battery output.
Removing the tailgate trim (see here).
We raise the protective cap covering the nut of the cleaner lever.
ring wrench «at 13» unscrew the nut securing the lever...
...and remove the lever with the brush. If the lever cannot be removed from the cleaner roller, we tighten the nut, with the reverse side, 3-4 turns...
... and compress the lever with sliding pliers.
Using a screwdriver, press the lock of the wire block...
... and disconnect the block from the gear motor connector.
With a drill with a drill with a diameter of 8 mm, we drill out the rivets for fastening the cleaner and remove the cleaner.
Before installing a new purifier, we rearrange the rubber pads from the old purifier onto it.
For this...
... remove the spacer sleeve 1 from the pillow, and then remove the pillow 2 from the cleaner bracket.
Similarly, we take out the other two pillows. We insert the pillows into the bracket of the new cleaner and insert the spacers into them.
When installing, you can fix the cleaner using self-tapping screws, or by making special studs. When fastening with screws...
... install the cleaner on the remaining parts of the rivets...
... and we wrap suitable self-tapping screws with washers into the holes of the rivets. If the rivets have fallen out or are turning in the door panel, we fix the cleaner with studs. For this...
... knock out the remains of the rivets from the door panel.
We take three studs about 100 mm long with M6 thread (can be bought at any hardware store or auto parts store).
We bend the studs, as shown in the photo, and screw the nut onto the bent end at a distance of 25 mm from the end of the stud.
We put a washer on the end of the stud with a nut.
We start the bent end of the stud with the nut behind the inner panel of the door...
... insert the bent end of the stud into the hole in which the rivet was previously installed and into the cleaner pad.
Putting on the washer, wrap and tighten the M6 threaded nut (it is better to use a self-locking nut) cleaner attachments.
Similarly, we install the remaining two studs for attaching the cleaner. To set the gear motor shaft to its original position, we connect the wire block to the gear motor. Putting the wire clamp on «negative» output of the battery, turn on the gear motor with the steering column switch, then turn it off and wait for the gear motor shaft to stop. In this position, set the brush lever so that the brush is horizontal and directed towards the left side of the car.
