Design features of on-board electrical equipment (Priora 2170)

The car's electrical equipment is made using a single-wire circuit: the negative terminals of the power sources and consumers are connected to the "ground". The function of the second wire is performed by the car body. The electrical circuits of the engine control system are made according to a multi-wire scheme and are connected to the vehicle ground only through the electronic control unit. A combined ignition switch (lock) is used to switch the main circuits of the vehicle, consisting of a contact part and a mechanical anti-theft device with a lock. The switches for the exterior lighting and fog lights are combined into the exterior lighting control unit.

The heater electric fan mode switch, rear window heating switch and hazard warning switch are located on the instrument panel console trim. The switches for the headlights, direction indicators, windscreen wipers and windscreen washers are combined into a block of steering column switches. High-power electrical consumers are switched on via electromagnetic relays.

Attention! Carry out any work on the vehicle's electrical equipment only with the battery disconnected.

Caution! The battery can only be disconnected or connected when the ignition is off.

Attention! When checking the circuits of electrical equipment, it is prohibited to short-circuit the wires to ground (check the circuits for a spark), as this may lead to failure of the electrical equipment components.

Attention! It is prohibited to use fuses that are not provided for by the vehicle design or designed for a higher current, as well as to use wire instead of fuses.

Warning! When replacing fuses, do not use screwdrivers, as this may cause a short circuit in the electrical circuits.

Attention! It is prohibited to disconnect the battery when the engine is running to avoid damage to the voltage regulator and electronic components of the vehicle.

Attention! When performing electric welding work on a car, it is necessary to disconnect the wires from the terminals of the battery, generator and ECU (controller).
