Note: Replacing the outer boot (without special devices) shown also in section Replacement of CV joints.
Note: Approximate dimensions of the outer CV joint boot are 23x79x106 (mm). When choosing a non-original boot, you need to select it according to the dimensions as close as possible.

Removal
Remove the front wheel drive (see left, right).
Install the front wheel drive with the middle part of shaft 1, Figure 13-1, of the drive in a vise (a locksmith's vise with aluminum linings, a locksmith's workbench of the SHP-17 "GARO" type).

Cut off the small 2 and large 8 clamping clamps using nippers, being careful not to damage the housing 5 of the outer hinge and the shaft 1 of the drive (nippers).
(Original is available on this resource LADAman.ru)
Cut the cover 9 along its entire length and remove it (technological knife).
Remove grease (technological spatula, rags).
Mark the relative position of the housing 5 of the outer joint of the front wheel drive and the shaft 1 of the drive by any means except mechanical.
Remove the outer joint housing from the drive shaft using the Tav. 1796 tool and the Emb. 880 puller (tav. 1796 outer joint remover, Emb. 880 puller).
Remove the retaining ring 7 from the groove and remove it from the drive shaft (flat head screwdriver).
Wash the drive parts and blow them with compressed air (high-pressure washing unit with water heating type HDS 895 S "Karcher" (Germany), gun type AH 050101 "ANI" (Italy) for blowing with compressed air).
Installation
Install the drive shaft 1 with the middle part in a vise (a locksmith's vise with aluminum linings, a locksmith's workbench of the SHP-17 "GARO" type).
Parts that must be replaced:
- protective cover of the outer joint of the front wheel drive shaft;
- retaining ring;
- small clamp;
- large clamp.
Place small clamp 2 on wheel drive shaft 1.
To facilitate installation of the protective cover, lubricate the wheel drive shaft (grease for front wheel drive shaft joints 77 11 420 011 according to the current "Codifier of main and auxiliary materials used in maintenance and repair of LADA vehicles" K 3100.25100.00018, technological blade).
Install the protective cover 9 of the outer joint on the drive shaft.
Install a new retaining ring 7 on the drive shaft.
Press the outer joint onto the drive shaft so that the retaining ring snaps into place behind the collar 6. When assembling, ensure that the marks applied before disassembly match (plastic-head hammer).
Fill the cavity of the housing 5 of the outer joint and the protective cover with grease for the joints of the front wheel drive shafts in equal quantities (grease for the joints of the front wheel drive shafts 77 11 420 011 according to the current "Codifier of the main and auxiliary materials used in the maintenance and repair of LADA vehicles" K 3100.25100.00018, technological blade).
Place the edges of the cover in the grooves of the hinge housing and the wheel drive shaft (flat head screwdriver).
Insert a rod with rounded edges between the boot and the hinge body to adjust the amount of air inside the hinge (technological rod).
Rock the TTTPVC manually to check that the cover belts are installed correctly.
Install small 2 and large 8 clamps on the protective boot of the inner joint of the front wheel drive shaft.
Tighten the small and large clamps until they click using the tool (device for installing clamps Tav. 1168 or Tav. 1256, or Tav. 1784 depending on the design of the clamp).
Install the front wheel drive.
