Electric window switches — removal and installation (Granta 2190)

The power window switches are installed in the door trim. The driver's door is equipped with a block with switches for all electric windows. Depending on the configuration, some vehicles may be equipped with power windows in the rear doors.

To remove the switches, it is advisable to remove the door trim, since when trying to remove it by prying it with a screwdriver, there is a high probability of damaging the trim and the switch itself.

The work is shown using the example of a switch block on the driver's door. Removal and installation of the electric window switch on the passenger door is performed in a similar manner.

Removal

1. Remove the door trim ("Door trim - removal and installation").

2. Squeeze the two clamps...

...and remove the electric window switch unit.

Note: You can check the switch with a multimeter in ohmmeter mode. The switching of the switch terminals is shown in the general diagram of the vehicle's electrical equipment ("Electrical equipment diagrams").
