Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir visually using the marks on the reservoir body, which is made of translucent plastic (Figure 8.7).
The brake fluid level should be between the MIN and MAX marks.
With new brake pads, the brake fluid level should be at the MAX mark.
Attention! Signaling device"Brake failure" lights up when the fluid level in the reservoir drops below the MIN mark, which, with new or partially worn brake pads, indicates a fluid leak due to a depressurization of the system. In this case, add liquid only after the system has been sealed.
To identify and eliminate the causes of depressurization of the brake system or hydraulic clutch system, immediately contact your LADA dealer.
Before removing the tank lid, make sure the area around the lid is clean of any dirt.
Contamination of the brake fluid can impair the operation of the brake and clutch hydraulic systems, leading to costly repairs.
After three years of operation, the brake fluid in the system must be replaced.
This is due to the fact that brake fluid absorbs moisture from the environment, which leads to a decrease in its boiling point.
Water content can cause corrosion of the service brake system and clutch hydraulic system components.
Work on replacing brake hoses and brake fluid should be carried out by a LADA dealer.
Warning! Brake fluid is an aggressive substance and can cause irritation to the skin and mucous membrane of the eyes. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. In case of contact, immediately wash the affected area thoroughly with soap or a special cleanser and consult a doctor.
