There should always be windshield washer fluid in the washer reservoir (Figure 8.8).
Add liquid through the opening in the tank, which is closed with a lid.
- Use only ready-to-use windshield washer fluids for this purpose.
- During the warm season, it is permissible to use clean water.
- If the outside temperature is expected to drop below 0°C, a windscreen washer fluid of the appropriate concentration should be used. Otherwise, freezing of water may cause damage to the pump, tank or water supply pipes.
The direction of the liquid jet from the tailgate glass nozzle is adjusted using a thin, sharp object; the windshield washer nozzle is not adjustable.
Warning! Do not use the windshield washer if the fluid level is below the pump intake hole inside the reservoir: the windshield washer motor will fail.
