Warning! When towing a trailer, use a towing hitch designed for this vehicle make. It is prohibited to tow a trailer secured to the bumper or rear suspension elements of the vehicle. Do not exceed the maximum permitted weight of the vehicle and trailer indicated on the identification plate.
Note: When operating the vehicle at high altitudes, engine power is reduced. In this case, it is recommended to reduce the maximum permissible trailer weight during maintenance by % for every 1000 m of elevation above sea level.
Recommendations for operating a vehicle with a trailer:
- before starting the trip, check the trailer's lighting and light signaling devices for proper operation;
- check the distribution and secure fastening of the load in the trailer;
- make sure the trailer tire size, load rating, and inflation pressure of all tires comply with the trailer manufacturer's specifications;
- always secure safety chains between the vehicle and the trailer, try to cross them under the trailer drawbar in case the towing hitch fails;
- do not exceed the speed limit for road trains;
- avoid sharp turns and lane changes; when turning a road train, make sure there is enough free space for the trailer to pass through;
- when parked, always brake the vehicle and trailer with the trailer parking brake (if available), do not park the road train on steep slopes.
